Baked Cheesecake with Burnt Butter Cream Cheese Frosting and Burnt Butter Biscuit "The Secretary"

The Secretary is our take on the classic New York Cheesecake... with a twist.

We start with the twice baked burnt butter biscuit base which gives you a caramelly nutty aroma together with a buttery crunch. Sitting on top of this is a smooth, creamy dreamy baked vanilla cheesecake. This cheesecake is not too sweet while being creamy and cheesy at the same time.

Just the biscuit base and the cheesecake layer on their own are beautiful (we have these in dessert bars - check them out here) but we wanted to level this up and make it extra special for celebrations.

So we made a burnt butter cream cheese frosting. This is literally the icing on the cake and it is beautiful! Wonderful aromatic nutty notes really come through with each bite and you experience the three different textures - the crunch of the biscuit base, the smooth cheesecake layer and the lush cream cheese frosting.

"The Secretary" is what you'd get if "banoffee pie" and "New York cheesecake" had a love child! And just because, it's accented with edible gold leaf.

The Secretary is also available in larger sizes for celebrations.

Cheesecake delight

I couldn't have been more pleased then the amazing cheesecake I got to eat on my birthday. Those who know me understand this is favourite desert and that I have tried many over the years but Butter Mafia's baked cheesecake tops the lot and that's saying something. The only thing was I had to share it with my family which left me with no left overs for the second day because they all went in for seconds and third pieces on the questioned evening. You wont be disappointed with this cake!

Amazing cheesecake

This cheesecake is amazing. So delicious. First time I tried it it reminded me of a dessert from my childhood and brought back a lot of fond memories. The cheesecake is smooth and had wonderful notes throughout. I had to sadly share my cheesecake with by brother - who is not coeliac but he loved it just as much as I did. Do yourself a favor and try the cheesecake.

Give me more!!

This cake was to die for. I wanted to run to my room and eat it all myself. Instead, I shared it with a group of friends who all loved it as much as me.
